"There's so many different types of farming today. I mean, when I was growing up, and I guess there were then too, but you know I only knew what I knew about, our own little farm. In Chatham County in particular, I think now there's a whole sort of trend towards organic farming and small sustainable farms, which is different. I mean when I was growing up, people were just learning about all the advantages of chemicals and, you know, fertilizers and the pesticides and so that was a really big thing then and I think, you know, the smaller farmers here in this area I think are trying to get away from that as much as possible. And, you know, there's the other whole end of farming where you've got the mega farms where you've got huge tractors that are air-conditioned and everything is automated. And technology plays a huge role in that, just the business end of farming and all the things that technology has changed about how to organize and when to plant and where to plant and all those things."
